Pandora Mk1 - Complete with trailer

Popular cruiser/racer with cult following. Built by Rydgeway marine between 1973 and 1976, this GRP constructed yacht is great fun to sail and is ideal for those wishing to get afloat on a budget. Comes complete with braked road trailer allowing new cruising grounds to be explored.

 The Pandora is considered a classic and has a huge following thanks to her easy sailing qualities and timeless lines. She is a very pretty boat and up until recently had a very active owners association with organised flotilla type trips and rendezvous arranged throughout the season.

She was designed by the famous Dutch architect EG Van de Stadt who took the open Randmeer day boat, added decks and coachroof which converted her into a weekender and named her the Trotter. After increasing the height of the freeboard that gave more space below decks she was named the Trotter-Pandora and was given to Grimsby Plastics to build. After only managing to build around 20 of these craft, Rydgeway Marine took over production and the Pandora Mark1 came into being and was produced to great success between 1971 and 1973 with a choice of keel configurations. This model was built in 1972 and has the 1.14M fin keel which gave by far the best sailing performance.

Regarded by many as a great sea boat many could be seen in marinas the length and breadth of the UK. Built in the early days of GRP construction when "the more the merrier" was the order of the day, she has a heavy layup and extremely strong and solid hull. Finished in white gel coat with attractive wooden rubbing strake concealing the hull to deck join. Large self bailing cockpit with ample lockers to port and starboard with outboard well at the rear of the cockpit. Transom hung rudder with tiller steering. 

Raised accommodation deck with sliding companionway hatch with set of three washboards that can be added depending on the sailing conditions. Good sized working foredeck protected by a stainless steel bow rail connected to stanchions by guard wires.
