Sea Craft Sceptre - Priced for quick sale
Very desirable Potter Built 20’ 1975 Sea Craft Sceptre project boat with original OMC I/O located in Norwalk, CT. This Sea Craft Sceptre features the legendary variable plane 24? dead rise, stepped deep vee hull designed by Carl Moesly. For veteran saltwater anglers, the name SEACRAFT® evokes a response of reverence, one of respect for a brand that has profoundly shaped the history and evolution of the modern sport fishing boat. No other brand has done so much to change the principles of hull design and few, if any, can claim the level of seaworthiness for which SEACRAFT is acclaimed. SEACRAFT has been an innovator since its beginning, living on the cutting-edge of engineering and design excellence. Its team of boat builders was led by the legendary Carl Moesly, an engineer whose vision created a hull so unique, so ahead of its time that even today, measured against all the competitors that have come since, it is still considered to be the best midsize seagoing boat ever built! The secret behind this renowned softer ride is the Variable Deadrise, Longitudinal stepped Vee Hull, a SEACRAFT exclusive that has only been further refined over time and updated with modern construction materials and techniques. Another SEACRAFT innovation was the introduction of a unitized grillage—a structural grid system integrating transverse frames and longitudinal stringers. When bonded to the hull, it makes the entire structure stronger and far more rigid than earlier stringer system configurations. Again, this was such a revolutionary development that it remains the industry standard to this day. Classic lines and famous rough water ride, the Secptre 20 is one of the best offshore runabouts with her deep-vee hull. These 20s are noted for their smooth dry ride even in the short chop conditions. This boat is sound, has the fishing amenities, and is a great opportunity for someone with some mechanical ability to shape up the engine and shine up the hull to restore one of the true classics in the marine world. The engine runs fine but the manifolds are shot. The out drive was rebuilt in 2009. The carburetor was also rebuilt in 2009. The 1985 Easy Loader single axle trailer is road worthy and provides inexpensive storage. LOA: 20’ 5” BEAM: 8’ DRAFT: 2’2” DEADRISE: 24?
