“Mad Hatter” is a solidly built and comfortably appointed trawler. It is an ideal example of a cruising trawler that can be a comfortable home away from home. The current owners have cruised in her since they had her built and their attention to careful maintenance is evidenced throughout. She has an enormous fly bridge and sundeck, a large main cabin and a spacious Captain’s stateroom with an island queen bed, vanity and large private head and shower. Above deck the fly bridge offers excellent 360 degree visibility and includes full engine controls as well as anchor windless controls. It is covered with a full bimini. Aft and down a step is the huge sundeck. A cover has been designed which connects to the fly bridge bimini. The fore deck is relatively small but has plenty of room for mooring and anchoring. The swim platform aft is equipped with an H/C pressure FW shower and also supports a 9’ dink on brackets.

Below deck the forward cabin has two twin bunks to starboard with a custom desk to port. There is ample storage under lower bunk and in a large hanging locker with two shelves and in the desk. Moving aft, the galley is to port and is equipped with a three burner propane stove, a brand new microwave oven, a top loading refrigerator and a ss double sink with H/C pressure water and a hand pump salt water faucet. To starboard is the forward head with a marine head, ss sink and vanity. Outside of the head is the main electrical panel box including both AC and DC breaker panels.

Aft and up three steps is the bridge deck and main salon. The bridge deck incorporates all of the appropriate engine and navigational controls and equipment including 16 mile radar, VHF, depth, GPS, Compass, etc. All are conveniently located. The main salon is extremely large for a vessel of this length. A double settee is aft of the captain’s seat and all of the furniture in the main salon is movable. A recliner is located to port. Extensive storage is available in various cabinets and shelves. Engine access is available from either the galley (under the stairs) or from the main salon sole. No furniture needs to be moved to access the engine room. Access from the sundeck is on the port side of the main salon via five steps with a teak balustrade. Starboard and aft are three steps down to the Captain’s cabin. The passageway has an enormous locker which could have held a washer dryer but has been used as general storage by the current owners. The Captain’s cabin is the full width of the boat with a vanity to port and built in chest of drawers to starboard. The large queen bed is in an island in the center of the cabin. There are three large hanging lockers in the aft cabin. Forward to port is the Captain’s head marine toilet, ss sink separate shower stall.
There are many spaces for all different types of storage. This is truly a cruising boat!
