1960 Chris-Craft

You are viewing an absolutely beautiful mahogany classic Chris-Craft. Liberty is a 27’ Chris Craft semi-enclosed built in 1959 and comissioned in 1960. This boat is in amazing condition that has gone through extensive restoration over the years. The Chris Craft Registry shows 4 owners over her 54 years but her hull has always been black and she has always been named Liberty. Unlike the typical lap strake of the ‘59-’62  sea skiffs, the original buyer a, lawyer in Detroit wanted a smooth hull and wanted it in black. Chris Craft’s Pompano Beach Florida ship yard obliged. Ironically the twin 1959 283 V8’s came from around the corner at GM’s Detroit plant making the same high torque low rpm engines for the 59’ Corvette. In 2011 an architect from Atlanta and a shipwright in Buford preformed her latest updates including a revised seating arrangement with storage and period teak swim platform. If you are a classic boat collector this is one you do not want to pass on. The owner will be very selective to who he sells this boat to and at any point the future buyer cannot keep or maintain her, the seller wishes to reserve first right to buy her back - this is a special boat - you aren't so much buying it vs keeping her for the next generation.
