Gulfstar is one of the great names in sailing, and built over 160 of these very sea-worthy, comfortable 41 foot cruisers!   She sails great on all points of sail, and has so much storage room the owner's blogs recommend keeping a chart of where you store items - so you can find them again!  This boat has sailed extensively and makes a great family cruiser, or livaboard!

Above decks, the center cockpit layout,and wide side decks, make moving about the deck a breeze.  The sloop rig also has a removable staysail for those long offshore hauls.  Below decks, she has sleeping room for 7, a very efficient 16,000BTU air conditioner (serviced in Oct 2014) to keep things cool, and ample storage to feed and entertain those folks for the long cruises.

Ariel underwent a complete, out-of-water survey in June, 2012 and there were no blisters noted, and, there were no soft spots on the deck or the hull.  The last bottom job was completed in August, 2013, and the last engine service was in November, 2013.  She has a 3 bladed Maxprop installed, with a 3 and 2 fixed blade prop as spares.

Coming down the spacious companionway, the well appointed and functional galley is to port, with a 3 burner propane stove and oven, stainless steel sink with pressure and foot pedal water, 6 cu ft Norcold icebox with cold plate, and plenty of storage for those long weeks on the hook.  Moving forward is the salon table that comfortably seats 4, across from the full length settee, with huge storage areas on both sides.  Moving forward is a full hanging locker across from the forward head and shower.  The v-berth is oversized with ample storage below and along the bulkheads.

Moving to starboard from the companionway is a large nav table just ahead of the tunnel back to the aft master cabin.  In the tunnel is a large storage area on the outboard side.  On the inboard side are the AC and DC panels, as well as the solar and battery monitoring panels.  Just aft of the panels is the access to the engine room, followed by the oversized rear cabin.  The aft berth wraps around and is larger than a queen sized bed, with ample storage underneath and to both sides.   The aft head and shower are just forward and accessed thru the aft cabin.  The cabin is cooled by a very efficient 16,000 BTU installed air conditioner.
