Construction

  • Strip planked with Spanish Cedar, edge epoxied and bronze ring nailed
  • Both exterior and interior surfaces are fiberglassed in epoxy with the interior surface fiberglassed before laminated oak frames were installed
  • Deck beams are laminated oak on oak hanging knees at each frame
  • The deck is 3 layers of 1/4” fir plywood stapled and epoxied together, then fiberglassed in epoxy
  • All exterior and interior trim is varnished mahogany
  • Galley joinerwork is dismantleable to provide full access to the engine
  • The keel is yellow pine drifted and lag screwed with bronze
  • Ballast is a 1500 pound exterior lead casting
  • The rudder is outboard and easily removed
