The Mariner 38 Pilothouse is a Peter Canning design that was based on the very successful Mariner 38 Cutter and the earlier Mariner 36. The New England based Mariner Yacht Company built vessels for offshore cruising from 1977 until 1983. The Mariner 38 Pilothouse Sloop afforded the cruising sailor two helms and comfortable inside steering with generous visibility. Her sloop configuration makes for easy sailing.

The Pilot house is entered by use of very large double companionway doors and large overhead hatch.  You will immediately notice the outstanding ventilation with 2 opening windows, 5 hatches and 8 opening portlights

To port in the pilothouse is a pilot berth with a large fold down nav desk and shelves above, to starboard is the galley running the full length of the pilothouse. Slightly forward is a bulkead with the inside steering controls, engine control and electrical panel. There is excellent acccess to the engine by lifting the cabin sole in the pilothouse.

Next forward down two small steps is the main salon with a butterfly table centerline, L shaped settee to port, settee and hanging locker to starboard. Next forward to port is the head w/shower and starboard-side sink with a good amount of room.

Furthest forward is the v-berth with more hanging lockers and a sliding door for privacy in the forward cabin.
