Marine Trader D/C Trawler

This 38´ Marine Trader is a 1982 double cabin trawler with a single 120 hp Lehman diesel. This is not your average vessel. In these times of higher priced fuel, this engine burns only 2 gph and will appeal to all “retired” cruisers who appreciate 7-7.5 knots. HULL AND DECK:

  • Flag blue awlgripped hull topsides, done 1998 (look very good).
  • Black Micron ablative bottom paint.
  • Red boot top; white superstructure.
  • 2011 bottom cleaning and paint by Kittery Point Yacht Yard.
  • 2007 windows sealed by Warren Pond Boatworks.
  • Dual helms with hydraulic wheel steering.
  • 2011 Toast-colored Flybridge enclosure with clear sides, backdrop curtains and Flybridge privacy curtains ($6,300).
  • Teak side decks in very good condition.
  • Teak swim platform finished in Cetol with S/S boarding ladder.
  • All exterior teak trim finished in Cetol.
  • Hydraulic wheel steering, rebuilt in 2005.
  • Emergency tiller.
  • Two teak side doors to the salon.

ENGINE & MACHINERY:

  • Single Ford Lehman 120 hp diesel, 6 cylinder, FWC (engine completely rebuilt in 1998 (taken out of vessel).
  • Engine hours: Reported by Seller to have 1800 hourse since total rebuild (total hours reported to be 5702).
  • Cruising speed: 7-7.5 knots.

  • In 2004 engine was gone over with valves adjusted, new water lift muffler, new exhaust elbow and hose to muffler.

  • 2012 1- 12V 4D engine starting battery.
  • 2012 8- 6V gel cell batteries in two separate house banks with main battery switch.
  • 2013 new hot water heater by Kittery Point Yacht Yard.
  • 100 amp alternator.
  • 2500w inverter with Xantrex Link 2000 battery monitor system and Xantrex charger.
  • Westerbeke 8kw generator with approximately 2500 hours.
  • 1- 12V generator battery.
  • 1- 12V battery for dinghy winch.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • For six in two separate staterooms with two ensuite heads.
  • Chain locker forward.
  • Next aft are vee berths with storage shelves outboard, drawers and cabinets under.
  • There are two large hanging lockers.
  • The ensuite head has a new 2004 manual Jabsco head, sink and shower.
  • 2011 all new interior upholstery and curtains.

 

MAIN SALON:

  • The lower helm is to starboard with a door to access the side deck.
  • To port is an L-shaped convertible settee with teak table which lowers to form a double.
  • There are two upholstered swivel rattan chairs as well.
  • All salon upholstered cushions are a forest green.

 

GALLEY:

  • To starboard aft of helm is a side galley, which has a 3 burner Princess electric stove and oven, a new 2012 Norcold 12V/110V refrigerator/freezer, S/S sink, hot and cold pressure water, and a microwave oven.
  • The galley counters have new tiled countertops.
  • Under the helm seat is a new 2004 110V U-line icemaker.
  • Abundant storage lockers are under all settees and counters; there are dish lockers above.
  • Aft to port is another side door to access deck.

 

AFT CABIN:

  • One steps down into a spacious aft cabin with a centerline queen-sized, walk-around berth with new mattress and inner springs.
  • There’s storage and hanging lockers surrounding the port and starboard sides.
  • To starboard is a companionway to access aft deck.
  • The head is forward to starboard with a new 2013 manual head, sink, and separate tub/shower combination.
  • Full length mirror, sliding aft windows, curtains, bedspread, and a lighthouse painting.

 

COMMENTS ON INTERIOR’S CONDITION:

  • Although this vessel is 24 years old, the interior shows extremely well.
  • All parquet soles have been varnished in gloss finish.
  • This vessel shows above average in condition.

  • Pioneer AM/FM/CD player with 2 Bose speakers in salon and two Pioneer speakers in Flybridge.
