Swanson 36

ALCY is a very interesting cruising sloop built in Aurtralia by the Swanson Boat Company.  She was designed for the Sydney Hobart Race, then several hulls were built on a production basis to Lloyds Standards.  ALCY was sailed from Australia single-handed to British Columbia in the late 70's.

In more recent years ALCY was re-fitted with a new engine, rigging, sails and much more shortly prior to the current owner's purchase in the 90's.  Under the current ownership her teak decks were removed and replaced with fiberglass, and other items continually upgraded and maintained.

ALCY is unique and attractive, and should be considered if a performance vessel is desired for offshore cruising.

PRICE JUST REDUCED TO $ 39,500!!  OWNER HAS TRANSFERRED OVERSEAS AND NEEDS "ALCY" TO BE SOLD.

The interior if ALCY is finished in rare Huon Pine from Tasmania.  A new cabin sole was recently installed and it is a teak and holly vinyl.  The entire cabin is beautifull finished and a unique layout for cruising.

Starting aft, the deck house extends over the cockpit, creating a "hard dodger".  The cockpit seats are lower in this area allowing for getting completely out of the weather but still in the cockpit.

The cabin is entered through a companionway door, but not a sliding hatch, as this is still in the area of the raised deck house.  Port and starboard are quarter berths, and the port side has a chart table over the berth.  The electrical panel is in the area of the starboard berth.

Next forward to port is a proper wet locker.  Continuing forward, the Galley is to Port and a wrap-around settee is to starboard. The dining table drops down to allow the settee to become a double berth.

Forward of the galley is a cupboard of lockers for clothes, food, and other stores.

To starboard of this locker is the head area which has a marine toilet plumbed to a holding tank and direct overboard discharge option, and a vanity sink and shower.

V-berths are in the forward cabin with open shelves above and storage underneath.  A large opening hatch is above.

The cabin is light and airy feeing, and has 7 aluminum framed opening ports and two large overhead hatches.  Interior cushions replaced in 2005.
