Sadler Barracuda
The Sadler Barracuda is a fast, seaworthy, exciting and surprisingly docile design by Tony Castro. She was designed to be lightning fast off the wind yet easily handled by a small crew and was unsinkable. She is easily handled by two but has berths for eleven - at a pinch. Her long waterline and hull shape give her a good turn of speed and her twin rudders give control and manoeuvrability. Her hydraulic lifting keel will help you reach the shallow ports and anchorages most other boats cant reach. A recent survey showed no osmosis on the hull. There are 3 double cabins, 2 aft and one in the bow. The saloon will provide another 4 berths if you need them and will happily seat 8 There are 2 heads, one with a shower both with Jabsco Twist and Lock heads The galley has good storage and a double burner stove with oven and grill
For some years in the 1990s a Barracuda held the record for the Royal Southampton Y C two-handed Round the Island Race.
This boat has had a lot of work done in recent years and now needs a new owner to enjoy the grin that you get at 20+ knots.
