Endora is approachiung 50 years old and I have owned her since 1988 and am only the 4th owner. Extensively sailed in the Mediterranean, Irish Sea, English Channel and nearby French destinations. In July, I sailed her back across Biscay after spending 3 years cruising North and West Spanish coasts - a lot of that single-handed. The boat was kept ashore for 2.1/2 years from 1996 to 1998 for a ful condition survey by Captain Derek Hansing and this was used as a work programme for complete overhaul and up-dating. jobs included replacement of all galvanised floors, repairs to some frames, re-wiring, all new plumbing system with calorifier to provide hot water from the replacement Perkins M20 engine and a host of other items (copy of original survey available on request). After 2 Summers ashore and with full agreement of the the surveyor, the bare hull was epoxy-glass sheathed to a specification provided by SP Resins in anticipation of use in warm waters and a barrier against worm attack - which never happened due to work pressures. Since re-launching, Endora has been maintained to a good standard and has had two further 7 year surveys for insurance purposes by Nick Healey whilst harbouring in Cornwall. During my ownership, the original mast has been replaced with a Noble Designed one, a new boom, all running rigging, new Genoa and Main by Penrose sails of Falmouth. The latest improvement was complete renewal of all standing in July 2010 by David Carne ready for our trip acoss Biscay (Falmouth to Gijon in 96 hours) Copies of all surveys are available which demonstrate ongoing attention to condition. Copies of both more recent surveys are available. After 25 years cruising, the inventory is very extensive and includes 8 other sails, one of which is a little used Spinnaker with all gear and pole, VHF DSC radio, Garmin GPS, Chart Plotter, Navtex, safety gear,Eberspacher, Cockpit shower together with lots of domestic needs to satisfy the avid caterer such as cutlery, melamine plates and cooking utensils - in short, a vessel ready to go as far as the crew want to sail her. (PLease ask for a copy of the inventory) Reason for sale ? The boat is now in better condition than her 75 year old owner !
