A roomy and easily trailered pocket cruiser, the MacGregor 26M evolved and improved from its predecessors, especially the M25 and Venture 22.

This model became very popular because of its trailerability, a comfortable interior with enclosed head (porta-potty) and its ability to drain her water ballast while under power allowing her to come up on plane and achieve greater speeds.

The swing centerboard was replaced with a daggerboard to free up more space below, and a second tier of windows was added with standing headroom. In addition to the water ballast (1150 lbs.) there is 300 lbs of permanent ballast for stability, given that this model allowed a bigger outboard. so windage and the higher weight of the engine didn't have her heeling ... The Mainsail, Jib and Bimini are all wrapped in their own canvas and stored inside suspended from ceiling (see images 6 and 79 - 82) and are in excellent condition.

The large cushion with extra cover (images 83 - 85) which accounts for the rest of the convertible dinette berth, has also been stored inside and hasn't a mark.

Also seen from picture number 86 are all navigational and safety equipment stored inside, along with their manuals, and all service records (of which there are few).

The hull and gel-coat are excellent.

The 2-stroke Evinrude is clean and runs perfectly (only 40 hours).
