Heritage East 36 Sundeck Trawler

Parker and McKnew describe this traditional sundeck trawler as a vessel with “big boat comfort, small boat economy; teak interior boasts roomy salon; good engine room access; very space-efficient layout; plenty of natural light” (Power Boat Guide, 2011). That is only the tip of the iceberg with this truly turn-key beauty – the nicest sundeck trawler we’ve seen. The owners have lavished thoughtful care and attention, and have added nearly $20K in great equipment and upgrades in the last few years. The interior is a gorgeous, warm teak, featuring 2 staterooms and heads, a centerline aft queen, washer/dryer, heat/AC, phenomenal light and good storage throughout. The exterior is classic, roomy and salty, but with little exposed teak. Wide side decks, great sight lines, and a hardtop aft, combined with the efficient Cummins diesel engine, capable Westerbeke 8kW generator, and the ease of bow-thruster enabled maneuvering all point to a ‘form follows function’ design objective. “Zachariah” is, in short, the perfect couple’s cruiser. Perhaps that is why this very boat was featured in the January/February 2005 issue of PASSAGEMAKER magazine!

Private stateroom forward with opening hatch overhead. Two opening portlights. Large double berth offset to port, built-in settee to starboard. Guest head with shower, mirror, sink, vanity and opening  portlight. Galley opposite with opening portlight above stove. Up three steps to salon. Steps are hinged and provide access to engine room. Fully equipped lower helm station to starboard with Todd pedestal captain's chair. Adjacent sliding door opens to wide, walk-around sidedecks. Forward facing windows and screened sliding windows port and starboard provide ample natural light and ventilation. Custom blinds, new curtains, window covers and door screens. Sofa with storage to port and leather stressless chair and ottoman to starboard. (Original matching sofa from starboard side of salon available.) Custom wine and liquor bottle storage lockers in aft bulkhead. Two hinged hatches in salon sole provide access to engine room.

Aft master features centerline queen, four opening portlights and opening hatch in aft bulkhead. Mirrored vanities port and starboard. Ensuite head with shower stall, electric fresh water flush head, mirrored sink and vanity forward to starboard, washer/dryer concealed in locker forward to port. From salon up three steps to aft deck. Aft deck features factory hard top, teak furniture. Magma gas BBQ grill, wet bar, outboard motor storage bracket and molded in steps leading down to large swim platform. From aft deck up three molded in steps to flybridge with hinged radar arch and bimini top. Cushioned L-shaped bench seating to starboard, cushioned, lounge to port. Centerline helm station with captain's chair. Built in cabinet for propane tank storage beneath helm dash. Custom helm cover and full bridge cover. Beautiful teak woodwork, teak and holly sole and generous drawer and locker storage throughout. A very roomy 36 foot trawler! CLEAN!
