Horizon Steel Pilothouse - Outstanding Condition!

The Horizon 50 "Raven" is a custom designed steel hulled pilothouse yacht. Her owners have cruised her extensively from the West Coast of the US, through the Panama Canal throughout the Caribbean and along the US East Coast.

Raven has a beautiful black hull, hence the name, and she has been meticulously maintained by her owners, who had the yacht comissioned and built by Horizon Yachts in British Columbia. They were able to alter the design to suit their cruising needs and have made it extremely liveable as a result.  The pilot house offers great visibility, either from the table or from the helm, which has a comfortable captain's seat with access to battery switches, electrical panel and electronics. Raven can be steered from the cockpit as well. Note that Raven is a sailing yacht, not a motorsailer and the owners have delighted at her performance under sail where the miles have been reeled off under the right conditions.

This boat is built with world cruising in mind. It is strong, stable and safe, all desirable features in a cruising vessel. Raven is in immaculate condition and loaded with cruising gear, and very attractively priced.

If you wish to step aboard and go sailing without doing a refit project, you should step aboard Raven.

Raven has an open-plan layout, which accentuates her spaciousness.  Headliners are made of mahogany planking which can be easily unscrewed.  All cabinetry, doors and framing are mahogany; bulkheads are painted white. Cabin sole is mahogany and white cedar striping.

Entry to the boat is from the cockpit into the back of the pilot house by way of solid teak swing doors and ladder. The swiveling captain’s seat at the helm is to starboard, with instruments, battery switches and electric panels to hand; on the port side of the pilothouse is a dinette which drops down to form a large pilot berth (82” x 60”). The pilothouse has 6’3 head room, affords panoramic views through large glass windows front and sides and is perfect for holing up in bad weather.

The master stateroom is aft, under the cockpit, and is accessed down steps from the starboard side of the pilothouse.  A queen bunk ‘to die for’ fills the space at the stern of the cabin, with plentiful storage down both sides & hanging locker to port. An enclosed  head is against the forward bulkhead to starboard with a mirrored vanity with basin between the head and the door.  There are opening ports on both sides of the cabin for good cross ventilation and two opening ports in the transom, as well as an overhead hatch.

Back in the pilothouse you step down to the galley and salon via central steps.  The galley is u-shaped to starboard, with double s/s sinks, stove and work surfaces with storage. To port is the ‘pantry’, microwave and fridge/freezer as well as more work space. A small table with cushioned seats on either side is forward of that, in the salon, with bookshelves and storage against the hull. The table can be lowered to create a single seaberth. On the starboard side of the  spacious main salon is a settee which converts to double berth (75” x 54”)  Headroom in this section of the boat is 6’4”.

Through the forward bulkhead is a guest head with vanity & mirror to port, head  shower to starboard. Access to the anchor locker is in the bow
