Italia Yachts Iy10.98

Italia Yachts is a new brand with a long history. A fresh though classic design by Maurizio Cossutti and built by fifty year old shipyard Cantiere Baruffaldi. The best materials are used and the standard equipmentlist is long.

The IY10.98 has two cabins and a saloon plus a spacious bathroom. The deck is well organized with an underdecks rollerfurler, german mainsheet system and all halyards leading to the cockpit.

Extra's on this boat are: blue hull, bottom treatment, 30 hp engine and two additional flush hatches plus skyscreens in the owners cabin.

Construction

The boat is built according to the European Certification of compliance CE for pleasure craft "A" category.

Hull and deck are constructed in sandwich with differentiated density PVC core; the unidirectional and biaxial E-glass fibres are laminated with vinylester resin. The lamination is carried out at controlled temperature between 16 and 25 degrees. Aluminium and plywood plates are included in the structure to increase resistance where the deck hardware is mounted.

The collar of the mast is made in composite. There is a structural carbon reinforced frame glued and laminated to the hull bottom.

The structural bulkheads are made of marine plywood and gusseted to the hull and glued to the deck. The deck is glued and laminated to the hull.

Cockpit benches and cockpit bottom are covered with teak. The toe rail is also in teak.

Keel & Rudder

The keel is T-shaped with steel structure and the torpedo is cast lead.

The rudderblade is laminated in fiberglass with PVC core. The aluminium rudderstock is biconical. The stock bearings are self aligning.

The steering wheel is in leather covered steel with a diameter of 140 cm.

Deck gear

Stainless steel pullpits including attachments for lifelines and LED navigations lights.

Stanchions are 610 mm height.

Removable anchor arm in stainless steel with anchor roller and attachment point for gennaker.

Flush deck hatches.
