Hand built by a master ship woodworker from historically correct plans.  For all wooden boat lovers ,"Suprise" is a must see, must sail and must own yacht!  Only the finest woods and materials used in this authentic recreation of the classic Chesapeake Skipjack. Very little heel at 5 honest knots in 10 knots of wind.  Fresh bottom paint 2/15

• Deck is old growth long leaf Yellow Pine with teak trim
• Cockpit sole is Teak with custom inlay & stainless steel drains
• Tiller is Ash and Wengee wood.  Spare tiller is Ash
• Rails are laminated Mahogany with gloss varnish
• Stantions are 316 stainless steel wrapped in cord and painted white

• Deckhouse has teak frames covered with gloss varnished honduras ribbon cut mahogany.  Teak weather boards
• Deckhouse roof is 3/8 inch pine, two layers of 1/4 inch marine plywood, epoxied between layers and topped with canvas.
• 10 bronze opening ports with insect screens
• Bowsprit is laminated Douglas Fir
• All bowsprit rigging is chain
• Hand carved tail boards on bowsprit
• 22# Danforth with 20' chain and 150' 3'4" rode
• 25# CQR with 100' rode
