Myron Spaulding was a legend on the Sausalito waterfront, and was a tremendous influence on San Francisco bay sailors during the days when boats were made of wood and built locally by expert craftsmen. An accomplished concert violinist, Myron Spaulding performed professionally for many years, including with the San Francisco Symphony. It was, however, as a yacht designer, builder and sailor, that Myron left his mark on the Bay Area. The Spaulding Wooden Boat Center in Sausalito bears his name.  This vessel, "AURORAL" (named after the ethereal quality of the "Northern Lights") is one of Myron's creations. She is a beautiful bright red performance cruising sloop of 33' 4" built of rare & costly Epoxy saturated Brunzeel Mahogany laminate, with scarfed joints, Silicon Bronze & Monel fastened, lead full keel & TEAK decks. She was launched in 1964 & has just completed a major refit at the Spaulding Wooden Boat Center. Her Greymarine  4-Cly engine runs well & shows less than 300 hours on the "clock." Her tanks are Monel, she has 6' 3" head room, sleeps 5, has a full set of cushions, VHF & compass. Sails by HOOD reported in good condition: 2 Mains, 2 Gennys & 2 Spinnakers.  A beautiful San Francisco Bay classic in outstanding condition, AURORAL is poised to thrill you whilst sailing on her home waters of San Francisco Bay or through the "Gate" to the blue waters of the Pacific and beyond. This is a wonderful offering. She needs cosmetic detailing, a toilet & a stove; otherwise she is a very fine vessel & a tremendous value in an extremely high-quality classical sailing yacht.
