Van De Stadt 34'

CORNISH LEGEND is a steel Van De Stadt 34' yacht in excellent conditions and has been built to the high standards required by the Department of Transport's Code of Practice for small commercial vessels.

These standards include stability tests and all the safety equipment required for an offshore private training vessel. She is a Bermudian sloop and is very stable and fast. She has a 33 hp inboard Vetus engine which gives her a cruising speed of 7/8 knots under power. This engine has been fully maintained. She has a 100 lts. fuel tank giving a range of 300 miles under power.

There are 6 berths - 2 berths in the forward cabin, 2 berths in the saloon and a double in the after cabin. There is a separate toilet, shower and wash basin compartment and a very smart galley with twin sinks, fridge and cooker. On deck there is a comfortable cockpit with a large locker for the deck gear. The foresail is a furling genoa and the main sail has slab reefing. CORNISH LEGEND is berthed at Camaret with good shore facilities

NOTE
A berth at Camaret–sur-mer would be available if the new owner required it. Annual cost about £1200 incl. electricity.
Camaret –sur-mer is an ideal port as there are good connections to Brest (1 hour) where the budget airlines fly in from the UK and Paris.

Cornish Legend is fitted out for long distance cruising if required :
+There is a full working galley with gas cooker with 2 rings, oven and grill.
+In the gas locked there is a 32kg gas bottle + a 10kgs spare gas bottle
+There is large capacity top loading fridge
+Loads of storage space for food and untensles
+She has two fresh water tanks of 200 litres each.
+The twin sinks have preesured hot and cold water plus a sea water pump if needed for ocean crossings
+Cornish Legend has a fin keel with one and a quarter tons of lead in the bottom
+She has a large rudder attached to a skegThe 14 ins. propeller has arope cutter fitted
+As Cornish Legend has been a private instruction yacht she has been maintented to a high standard.
+If required Cornish Legend can be delivered by her present owner who is a RYA Yachtmaster instructor

The beautiful interior ‘fitting out’ has all been done professionally in solid Teak, Iroko, English Ash and Sycamore

There is a full size fold down saloon table with fiddles, a cocktail cabinet in the middle plus the main ships batteries below.(240 amp hrs.)
The engine battery is under the after cabin (120 amp hr.)
The toilet/shower room has a marine toilet with holding tank if required
A wash basin with hot and cold pressured water.
