Owners Remarks

The Present owners have owned Cayuco for over 12 years, in that time hey have updated and modified Cayuco to make her an even more comfortable sea kindly boat than she was before.

They successfully completed a circumnavigation and have written a book called "A Leap of Faith" detailing their adventures; this includes an incident with pirates of the coast of Somalia, how they survived a force 10 gale near the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and overcame all the usual breakages and equipment failures encountered on a voyage of this nature. The Salar 40 is a renowned deep sea vessel, they have a very comfortable motion at sea especially in heavy weather conditions, it's sea keeping abilities are legendary, the long keel configuration and heavy construction always conveys a feeling of security when in deep water. A solid, seaworthy and well balanced craft, the equipment and layout are perfect for thousands of miles in nearly all conditions.  Sail controls are to hand in the spacious and completely sheltered wheelhouse enabling both main and Genoa to be furled, unfurled and day sailing around the coast, although marketed as a motor sailor the sailing performance is better than the title suggests, especially when the weather takes a turn for the worse.  The owners are selling because of their advancing years, anyway they have now completed their dream.
