Catalina 22 ' Catalina Daysailer / Weekender - Complete Refit 2014
Blah Blah Blah 1986 Catalina 22, Restored in 2014 Blah Blah Blah is a meticulously restored Catalina 22. From the inside out the current owner has paid attention to every detail. The bottom was stripped and the new bottom is sprayed with a race finish and 600 wet sanded. All through hull fittings are Marilon and flush to the bottom. The iron keel was glassed over and new keel bolts were installed. The wood trim and hatch boards are refinished and sprayed with clear AwlGrip. The hull is a three coat epoxy primer and a three coat LP finish. The deck cockpit and coach roof are AwlGrip two color finish. The rub rail is new and matching to the color scheme of the boat. The anchor locker is upgraded with an external drain and the upgraded bow roller has an internal bobstay. There is a Fortress aluminum anchor with 24’ of chain and 85’ of rode. The standing rigging is all new and the chainplates upgraded. The mast was completely gone through by Sea-Tek and the windex, vhf antenna, lights and sheaves are new. The running rigging and sheets are all race quality. The vang is a Vangmaster and can be released to enable the pop-up coach roof. The cockpit is outfitted with a new bilge pump and the primary winches are two speed self-tailing. The coach roof winch is one speed. There are three floating winch handles. There are two halyard bags in the cockpit and a new knot meter and compass. All hinges and hasps have been replaced with stainless upgrades. The traveler and car are new. The cockpit cushions are flotation devices covered with sumbrella. The battery and charger are new and concealed under the starboard bench in the cockpit. The stern is upgraded with ½” pintles and gudgeons. There are two rudders one in class and one after market racing rudder with three finished tillers. One tiller is shorter for more room in the cockpit. The motor is a Torqueedo electric with two powerheads and one charger. Max distance per powerhead 31 nautical miles at three quarter throttle. The motor is plastic and there is no need for zincs. The interior is clean and the upholstery is new sumbrella. The convertible salon table, navigation desk and aft hatch are all custom woodwork by finish carpenters. The ice chest is new and the teak and holly step and inspection plates on the cabin sole are new. The snap on curtains are covering new port lights. The galley sink has been replaced and the new bladder and hand pump installed. The potty has a black water bladder and can either be discharged through the Y-valve or emptied from the deck. The interior wiring, panel board and lights are new. The VHF is a fixed Horizon AIS/GPS model. The interior, running, mooring and steaming lights are all LED.
