Matsumoto Classic Trawler - Price just reduced

The island shadow is a wooden trawler vessel that was originally build for commercial fishing by Matsumoto Shipyards in Vancouver in 1952. The hull is a carvel planked, full displacement design that features near plumb bow, rounded bilges, a curved stern and  is finished in white with brown bulwarks and trim. In 2000 the current owners took on this boat and totally refinished the interior. ISLAND SHADOW is now a fantastic stable 7-8 knot cruiser that sips a couple of gallons an hour. Also if you want to live-a-board, you will find plenty of space and storage. The owners converted this traditional Northwestern Pacific trawler into a comfortable live-aboard vessel so that they could take their home with them as they traveled along the coast and islands. Its warmer than a fiberglass boat in the winter and cooler in summer. If you are looking for something classic, check this one out!

Forward below deck is the focsle with double berth followed by the engine room and a large storage space with the lazerette further aft. Up in the deck cabin is a center helm in wheelhouse, next to starboard is a dinette/ double berth followed by a large walk in closet, galley and the salon aft. To port is an office desk area, followed by a private head with walk-in shower, galley cupboards and sink  and TV settee. Aft, the stern has a top deck access ladder to port, lazerette access hatch in the sole and acess to the swim grid aft. The command bridge has an upper helm, forward and amidships storage lockers and aft bench seat/ locker. Clear weather curtains surround the transom deck balcony. A wooden swimgrid with dinghy mounts is bolted to the transom. All windows and doors have screens.

The vessel is rigged with a steel twin pedestal mast and solid forestay mounted on the cabin roof. It is ready for possible paravane booms and vanes if one so desires.
