Lager 45' - Lager 45' Performance Cruiser

The Lager 45 “Wild Woman” is a unique custom designed and built racer-cruiser designed to the current owner’s multi-purpose requirements for a fast, seaworthy, comfortable, all-ocean capable racer-cruiser with world class finish and style. The owner planned a future sailing program to include a circumnavigation as well as additional grand prix racing and extensive ocean cruising. This ambitious program meant the yacht conceived had to be incredibly strong, yet built as light as modern composite materials safely allowed; have a hull form that was intrinsically seaworthy and competitively fast, yet able to support a luxury interior; and have all the required safety and operational equipment and gear for ocean sailing. Extensive research and efforts along with close collaboration between the sales project team, naval architect, marine engineer and builder resulted in this very special hybrid performance racer-cruiser.

The yacht participated in the Expo ‘98 Round the World Rally, which was organized by the ARC founder Jimmy Cornell, and has since been involved in much racing and extensive cruising on both sides of the Atlantic. “Wild Woman” has received continuous maintenance including two major refits (2003 & 2011). Her teak deck was replaced in 2011 and she comes with generator, water maker, tender & outboard, carbon mast and spinnaker poles, and a great set of sails. The yacht has also been winterized for 5 months every year. Her current and original owner is a very passionate sailor and as a result the boat is superbly well equipped with everything you would need for ocean sailing.

“Wild Woman” is extremely light on the helm, fast and easily driven, and a joy to sail with full crew as well as single or double-handed.
