The Moody 47 owes its impressive passage times to its latest geration hull which, with its extended waterline, cuts efficiently through the water. She can be sailed easily by two people. All the controls are placed within the long cockpit where spray protection id provided by the stainless steel framed windscreen, or the option of a GRP doghouse with stainless steel edged windows and complete cockpit tent.

In mast furling is standard; a cutter rig and self tacking stay sail as an option for greater flexibility. Teak is used for the decks and the cap rail on the raised.

Center cockpit diesel auxiliary master head sloop. Layout: The forward stateroom has an island queen berth followed by a head with handheld shower. Next aft is a guest stateroom with stacked bunks. The salon with settee and table follows. The galley is to starboard and the navigation station is to port. Next aft is the engine compartment below the companionway steps. The master stateroom is aft with head with shower. Steps lead up the companionway to the cockpit with fiberglass dodger/enclosure.
