J Boats J/32

This is a moderately displaced performance cruising vessel drawn by Alan Johnstone to be the perfect size for a couple or small family.  Her interior is spacious and is thoughtfully appointed. This boat has every option offered by the manufacturer plus teak bulkheads, and a carbon fiber Hall mast. It is truly a beautiful vessel and more upgrades have been added plus a new hull Awlgrip job & newly varnished teak & holly sole. She is so superior under sail that in 10+ knots of wind, many traditional cruising designs will be lucky to keep pace with her with engines running. Her efficient VCG keel, easily driven hull & manageable sail plan are key ingredients to sailing efficiency. She is very stable and carries a greater sail area in a fractional configuration. The boat is so well balanced she will sail under the main alone. Pitch and roll as well as weight aloft is minimized by the carbon rig. When this J/32 with the carbon rig was sailing side by side with another J/32 with the standard aluminum mast Wind Dancer could carry her sails into higher wind ranges while the other had to shorten sail earlier to maintain the same control.  All J/32’s are stiff sailing boats, but you could see the difference between the rigs.  All sail controls are brought aft to the cockpit and with the traveler and primary winches within easy reach, the helmsperson could sail the boat alone. There is standing headroom in the cabin that extends well forward into the forward berth, yet the one at the helm can see over the cabin top while sitting behind the wheel without having to stand. Her spaciousness below and ample storage is designed to keep your gear out of the living area of the boat. Step below and the private head and shower is to port of the companionway.  The engine access is behind the removable ladder and offers excellent access.  On the starboard side is the L-Shaped galley. Behind the galley is a walk-through solid oval door to gain entrance into the starboard cockpit locker.  No need to open up the companionway hatch on a rainy or buggy night to get at something in that locker. Just walk into the area and grab what you need. Forward of the head area is the nav station and electrical panel/battery storage. There are port and starboard settee berths and the starboard berth pulls out to a double. All berths are 6’4 or 6’6” long. The interior has teak and holly sole (which has been recently re-varnished) and there is teak trim throughout the cabin. This includes an optional teak main bulkhead (standard is white) and teak batten ceilings (hull sides). Windows down below are at eye level so you can always see the horizon. The cockpit is self-bailing and boasts three large lockers plus propane storage.  This is a beautiful, fresh water-only, two-owner boat.
