The Chaparral 2135 SS keeps its lines sleek while maintaining enough room in the cockpit and cabin for weekend fun. Access to the forward deck is easy with the molded-in, non-skid fiberglass step and walk-thru windshield with stainless steel supports. The optional cockpit galley is handy when it's time to cook meals or prepare snacks. Belowdecks, the large V-berth is Scotchguard protected. The cabin has sit-up headroom, sidewall storage and a large screened deck hatch for ventilation. The porta-pottie stows out of the way in a hideaway compartment. Balsa core keeps the deck-shape true while injected foam ensures a rigid bottom and quiet ride. All hardware is custom fit and made with top-quality stainless steel. CHAPARRAL SS SERIES: User-friendly helm stations feature non-glare dashboards with attractive woodgrain. Signature dash consoles have plenty of legroom and built-in drinkholders. Teleflex, the leading manufacturer of marine instrumentation, uses glass lenses to eliminate the potential for scratching and yellowing commonplace in gauges with plastic lenses. All gauges are backlit and the tech comes standard with a built-in hour meter. All instruments are surrounded by stainless steel bezels for a polished look. Chaparral uses individual circuit breakers for each switch on the dash. Clearly identified for quick access, each circuit breaker is fitted with a rubber waterproof jacket to help protect onboard electrical systems from the harsh marine environment. Behind the dashboard, all Chaparral wiring is color-coded, routed, secured and properly channeled. Chaparral installs premier-quality JVC sound systems on all the SS models. A leading name in audio components, JVC chassis are noted for their superior construction and ability to withstand the marine environment. Water-resistant speakers are strategically positioned throughout the boat for optimum clarity and stereo separation. Chaparral includes a battery on-off switch standard because there's peace of mind in knowing that all circuits except the automatic bilge pump are turned off when you're away from the boat. Adjustable fore and aft, back-to-back bucket seats slide on aluminum tracks with adjustment handles and fold down into a chaise lounge. Swivel pedestal bucket seats, which feature armrests and lumbar support, likewise adjust fore and aft and feature hi-low adjustments on several models. The bucket seats have a flip-up front cushion for operation either standing or sitting. Positioned on both sides of a well-padded engine box that doesn't protrude into the cockpit, the aft jump seats provide seating for two in the down position and a comfortable, full-length sun lounge when raised. Chaparral uses a heavy-duty 34-ounce expanded vinyl - also referred to as 50-gauge or 55 mil - plus foam backing with excellent memory retention. Vinyls are treated with Bio-Pruf mildew, ultraviolet and stain inhibitors. Triple-French stitching with reinforced backing strips looks elegant and adds strength. Plastic composite seat bases repel water and resist moisture far better than less expensive wood seats. Additionally, Flow-Mesh raises the foam off the composite base for faster and more thorough drainage. Cushions are covered with a polyethelene vapor barrier so water won't penetrate the foam. Because people inevitably stand on a boat, angled aluminum bottom supports provide extra durability. All upholstery is finished with stainless staples for long life and strength. Chaparral's high-density, mildew resistant foam is 40 percent denser than the industry average. The foam keeps its original shape longer and won't bottom out. Plush 28-ounce carpet is used on the floor, hullsides and even in the ski locker. All carpeting is treated with UV, mildew and stain inhibitors. Color-coordinated Sunbrella acrylic canvas is superior to other materials because it is resistant to cracking, peeling and mildew. It maintains its form-fitting shape under a hot summer's sun or on a chilly spring morning. All canvas options are custom made for Chaparral to ensure an exact fit and precise alignment. Cabin fabrics are protected with a Scotchguard barrier for quick clean-ups and added durability. Chaparral's cleats, running lights, extra large bow - stern eyes and ski tows are all high-quality 316L stainless so they won't corrode. Attached with stainless bolts and secured by backing plates so they won't twist, cleats accept full-sized looped dock lines. Elliptical rails offer a secure grip and are comfortable to the touch. Chaparral uses tilted elliptical stainless steel rails with welded center supports in the bow and three elliptical grab rails on the rear platform. All rails are through-bolted with reinforced backing plates. Chrome over brass through-hull fittings resist potential cracking better than standard plastic fittings and enhance the boat's exterior appearance. Chaparral uses a heavy-duty rubber rubrail and a custom interlocking system that won't separate and absorbs impact without denting or crazing the gelcoat. Traditional inexpensive aluminum frames with undersized rubber inserts give under pressure, may dent easily and are constantly separating. Mounted on the starboard side for clear visibility, the stainless steel telescopic, three-step boarding ladder tucks out of the way in a hideaway compartment. Twin grab handles add stability. One-piece, heavy-duty stainless windshield supports maintain rigidity far better than aluminum or plastic braces that can break over time. Chaparral's fuel fill is mounted forward on the hullside so the tank can be filled completely without spills on walkways. Both of the large storage compartments underneath the seat cushions in the bowrider area are hinged for easy, one-handed access. An anchor - rope locker with an overboard drain and a rattle-free anchor cradle is located on the forward bow. The oversized, in-floor ski lockers are wide enough to accept kneeboards. Carpeted to protect recreational equipment, the locker has a user-friendly hinged lid and an overboard drain. Three insulated ice chests with overboard drains and easy access hinged lids, conveniently located in the bow, in the port console and on the fiberglass transom platform, are standard on bowrider models. Twin ice chests are standard on cuddy cabin models. When not pressed into service as an ice chest, the transom storage tub is ideal for storing wet ski lines and gloves and is easily accessible from the water. Chaparral has three stainless grab handles on the platform. Storage is available under all the seats and there's room to stow larger, bulkier items such as two fenders in an oversized port console compartment. Opt for the Sport Interior and you'll find accessible storage space available on either side of the engine. Skis and fishing gear can also be stowed under the full-width bench seat. A form-fitting hideaway compartment for the color-coordinated acrylic canvas top is located on the transom behind the jump seats on the standard interior. With the Sport option, the top is protected within the confines of the spacious storage area under the backseat. Chaparral's Extended V-Plane running surface took to the water three years ago. Their twin-strake, modified-V running surface extends the full length of the hull including the critical area under the fiberglass swim platform. Extended V-Plane means that every inch of fiberglass is at work whether idling through a no-wake zone or motoring along at full throttle. What separates Chaparral from the pack are the endless hours in R&D fine-tuning the keel, strakes and chines. Extending the running surface full length means faster time to reach plane, improved tracking, added stability in shifting water conditions and lower fuel bills. Behind the wheel there is a distinct difference in cornering agility, ride control and balance under shifting weight loads. Trim shifts are precise, throttle response immediate. An advanced technology polyester gelcoat is used for superior weather resistance to yellowing, fading and chalking. With premium gelcoat and proper maintenance, a boat will keep its original glossy luster longer. Premium gelcoat offers improved flexibility, minimizing cracking and stress crazes. Chaparral uses AME 4000, a modified acrylic epoxy resin, in the hull skin coat of their boats because of its superior bonding characteristics and exceptional flex. Pressure-treated XL plywood, made of Northern Spruce, features seven laminates in its 3-4-inch sheets and carries a limited lifetime warranty against rot, decay, bleeding and delamination. Standard four or five-laminate marine-grade plywood is dip treated, protecting only the outer layers. End-grain balsa core is used in the deck areas because it's lighter, stronger and conforms well to the deck shape. Injected into every cavity between the stringers and the floorboards, non-ozone depleting polyurethane closed-cell foam will not absorb water and provides a quieter ride and added structural integrity. Chaparral relies on automotive-style Flexguard loom to keep wiring neat and to protect against abrasion.
