Sparkman & Stephens S & S 34

A classic S&S design, rarely on the market and this one is much loved and well maintained by knowledgable owners who have recently moved up to a bigger boat to allow room for a growing family.  We are honoured to have such a pedigree in the yard.   This was the second hull built, subsequent to Sir Edward Heath's Morning Cloud.   Slipstream was donated to the RAF Yacht Club by Lord Cowley and stayed with them for the first 14 years.  The second owner ran his own boat yard and she was refitted for family cruising.  The third owner purchased the boat in 1994 and spent a considerable sum in maintenance, including new engine and topside re-painting.   The current owners have owned Slipstream since 2004 and have used the boat lightly for family cruising and continues to upgrade the vessel including a new Yanmar engine and sail drive, standing rigging and regular, professional on going maintenance.

Built by Michael Winfield & Partners to Sparkman & Stephens design in 1969.  Heavily laid up GRP hull, deck and superstructure.   Lead fin keel with skeg hung rudder.   Tiller steering.  Full British Part I registration.  Teak laid cockpit seats. Teak capping rail.   Dark blue topsides.  Displacement 10,100 lbs

Previous to the current ownership the hull was treated wtih Gelshield preventative epoxy coating and the hull was stripped back in May 2013 to apply an additional coating, again Gelshield.
