Bristol 35 Sloop
SEVERANCE is a classic yacht designed by John Alden and built by Bristol Yachts of Bristol, RI…a pedigree that is hard to match, For a vessel of this vintage, you'll find a Bristol 35's interior hard to match in yachts many feet longer. The initial impression, and we quote, "Tremendous!" Her deck layout provides wide weatherdecks and great visibility from the cockpit. Her cockpit is self-bailing and the 2 cockpit hatches are scuppered to prevent leakage. Sitting behind her wheel, it is easy to tell that this yacht was meant for serious and comfortable bluewater cruising. Her interior is spacious throughout! An athwartship galley includes a gimbaled two-burner kerosene stove with oven; a sink with hot and cold pressurized water; a cold water hand pump; a large refrigerated ice chest; many drawers, lockers and large stowage area aft of ice chest for hanging wet gear, etc. Her main cabin offers a U-shaped convertible dinette to port and upper and lower berths to starboard. The forward stateroom has a large V-berth with shelves over, and an opening hatch (opens either fore or aft). Her head, in addition to the normal fixtures, includes large shower, several drawers, and a hanging locker. The shower and wash basin is serviced by a pressurized water (hot and cold) system. SEVERANCE has been owned by the same couple since 1979…making her virtually a one-owner boat and her owners’ "pride of ownership" is extremely evident.
