Lowland 471 Trawler

The Lowland 471 Long Range Trawler, designed by Peter Beeldsnijder and built in the Netherlands, is a high quality steel yacht.  With her single Volvo 250 hp diesel and 750 gallon fuel tanks she has excellent range and fuel efficiency.  Top speed is about 12 knots.  She'll cruise at 9 knots, burning about 3 GPH.

3RD QUARTER's original owner cruised Europe and then transited the Atlantic Ocean to the U.S. on her own bottom before selling her.  The current owner's surveyor noted at the time of his purchase that the boat was built to a very high marine standard, "more along the lines of a small ship rather than a yacht."  Joinery on the boat is beautifully crafted, and her interior layout is both spacious and elegant.  The aft cabin features a centerline berth and private head with shower.  An Espar diesel-fired forced hot air heating system makes possible extended use of the boat in colder temperatures and adds potential for living aboard in northern climes.  A washer and separate dryer in the forward head greatly simplify living aboard.  The Northern Lights generator was new in 2012 and has virtually no hours on it.  A bow thruster simplifies close quarter handling and docking.

3RD QUARTER, as the accompanying photos show, is a handsome, custom-built yacht with beautiful features.  Her owner has reduced the price drastically in an effort to sell her now.  She has been hauled for the winter.

3RD QUARTER sleeps four.  Forward guest stateroom features upper and lower single berths to starboard and a vanity with sink to port.  Next aft is a head to port with tiled shower, accessible directly either from the forward cabin or from the passageway between the main cabin and forward stateroom.  Forward head features separate White Westinghouse washer and dryer.  Opposite the head to starboard is a large storage locker.  Next aft, up a few steps, is the main cabin with a wrap-around couch to port and a breakfast bar/galley aft to starboard.  The breakfast bar has three stools.  Steps lead aft from the main cabin to the owner's stateroom which features a centerline berth and private head with tiled shower.  Access to the engine room is from a concealed door behind a full length mirror located forward to port in the owner's stateroom.  A reverse-cycle system provides both air conditioning and heat to all cabins.  Cabin heating is provided by both an Espar diesel-fired hot air heating system and an independent 110 volt AC reverse-cycle system which also provides air conditioning to all cabins.
