As you board the 42 Krogen mid-ship (on either the port or starboard sides) you step down into a deeply recessed companionway that runs forward up three steps to the base of the pilot house side entry door and fore deck area & again, aft into the rear cockpit through locking wing doors. 

Once in the aft cockpit you can access a vertical ladder which will take you up to the upper deck and day bridge or enter the Main Salon through two large teak doors. The cockpit area easily accommodates the addition of two Teak Lounge Chairs, cocktail table, cooler and storage for additional Ropes & fenders. There is a large floor hatch in the aft deck that gives you access to a huge Lazarette for additional storage and you rudder post & steering hardware.I n the center of the aft deck there is a large transom door for access to your swim platform.

The Salon area is very spacious and roomy with two large opening windows (port & starboard sides w/screens) that provide ample light and ventilation. To port there is a comfortable leather Lazy-Boy recliner chair, and an antique Oriental storage chest with your Bose sound system brass reading lamps and area carpets complete the decor. Aft, (on the port side) is an upper book case and counter base with storage cabinet below. This is where your Sharp LCD flat screen TV is located which is also hooked up to your KVH Satellite TV receiver mounted on the Pilot House rooftop. Opposite & to starboard is a built-in "U" shaped Leather covered Dinette that seats 4+adults comfortably. Teak & Holley floors and area carpets create a warm and inviting feel. 

Access to the engine room is gained through a series of quickly removable hatches in the Salon floor.

The U-shaped galley is located on the starboard side forward of the dinette (midship) and is spacious and brilliantly placed in the boat. Directly across from the galley on the port side are cabinets with abundant storage and the breaker panel below.

Up three steps on the port side is the famous Krogen pilothouse with excellent visibility, an opening center window, & doors on either side to access the walk around fore-deck. There is a large cushioned bench seat aft that offers great sight-lines to the crew plus expands to a double berth. There is also plenty of counter space and storage for charts and navigation equipment.

From the Main Salon moving down the center steps to the lower level, there is a combination washer/dryer to port in the companionway just before the entrance to the spacious head c/with a Raritan electric toilet, Vanity w/storage and separate shower stall.

To Starboard is the guest cabin/den which has both a settee that converts into a double berth and a Pullman bed that folds down from the forward bulkhead. There is a beautiful desk with chair and storage space for computer and office supplies. In addition there is a large lighted vertical hanging locker, additional book & binder storage shelves, drawer & cupboard storage installed on the aft bulkhead.

The Master State Room is located in the bow and features the more desirable centerline queen berth. There is a cavernous hanging storage locker behind the chain locker in the forepeak, a huge, full length, double door hanging locker to port, a dressing table/vanity to starboard, and a double height bureau of drawers on the aft bulkhead. Additional storage is also found on full length double shelves and lockers on each side of the cabin as well as more drawer storage under the berth. 

It simply doesn't get any more comfortable than this in 42' of anything else afloat!
