42 Sabre Centerboard Sloop

The Sabre 42 was a breakthrough model for Roger Hewson and the Sabre design team.They succeeded in building a large 42' sloop that is easy to sail (especially with the Hood Stowaway mast that was added in 2001). The interior has two staterooms, two heads, a great galley and a spacious salon.

Starting from the bow there is a large forward cabin with 6' 6" headroom, V-berth with filler, custom fitted sheets and mattress topper, hanging locker, chest of drawers, en-suite head with shower.

Continuing aft is the Main Salon with a 6' 8" settee to starboard and a large L-shaped settee to port. The L-settee also converts to a double berth. The table is bulkhead mounted and hinges up to stow on the forward bulkhead. In the down position the table services the L-settee and with the drop-leaf folded up it also services the strbd. settee.

The Nav Station is on the starboard side opposite the galley. With its aft facing seat and great layout the navigation area is very efficient for offshore sailing. 

Next to the companion way on the starboard side is the aft head with separate shower stall. This head can also be accessed en-suite from the aft cabin.

The galley is to port as you come down the companionway. It is U-shaped with lots of counter space and storage. Large top loading Adler Barbour 12v refrigeration/freezer, 3 burner CNG stove w/oven, built-in microwave and double bowl sink.

There is a walk thru passage way aft of the galley for access to the aft cabin. The aft cabin is very open, has ample storage and a large double berth. The aft cabin has stand-up head room, custom fitted sheets, berth topper mattress cover, 12v fan, lighting, ventilation, two hanging lockers and a chest of drawers.

In general the interior is very spacious, bright, and airy. The interior cushions are all ultra suede. There are 9 overhead hatches and 12 opening ports. A 16,000 BTU Marine Air unit with digital controls provides cool comfort while in port for the forward cabin and main salon. A separate digitally controlled 7,000 BTU unit services the aft cabin.
