Monk Trawler Classic

The Monk 36 gained a lot of popularity in the 80’s as a durable & affordable trawler with a classic profile and traditional all-teak interior. Construction is solid fiberglass and the hull features a skeg-protected prop as well as an upswept, highly flared bow which contributes to her dry ride. Low maintenance Fiberglass decks with some wood accents on the exterior….just enough to lend a hint of “yachtiness” without dooming the owner to major upkeep.

The galley-up floorplan of the Monk 36 has remained essentially unchanged over the years. On deck the raised bulwarks and a high rail make movement around the house safe and secure. Additional features include a functional mast & boom assembly, a well arranged flybridge, bow pulpit, swim platform and bow & stern thruster on this one.

All in all, it’s a brawny, no-frills trawler that combines high construction standards, great live-aboard accommodations, minimal maintenance headaches and economical all-weather cruising capability at a moderate price. The Monk 36 has always been a popular good-selling model and over 250 have been built over the years.
