CONSTRUCTION:

     Vertical Grain Douglas Fir Planking over Steam Bent White Oak Frames; Bronze Screw Fastened.  White Oak Keel, Dead Wood & HornTimber, Angelique Stem.  Locust Floor Timbers.  All Bronze Bolts in Backbone.  Glued up Douglas Fir Clamps & Shelves.  Laminated Douglas Fir Beams - for main deck as well as pilot house.  All Decks & Roofs are covered with Dynel, using Epoxy Resin.  Main Deck is two layers 1/2” Marine Meranti Plywood, glued & Screwed; Underside of Foredeck is painted laid Red Cedar w/ Vee Grooves, with 1/2” Meranti Plywood over, & Dynel covered.  Approx. 1800 lbs. Lead inside ballast.

 

ENGINE:  

     English Gardner 5 LW Diesel, fully rebuilt prior to installation. Slow turning,  and smooth running.  Fresh water cooled through Sen-Dure heat exchanger.  85 HP at 1300 RPM.   Z.F. 2 1/2:1 Reduction Gear; 1 3/4” stainless shaft; 30” x 26” three blade LH propeller.   Reverso  electric oil change pump. .  Approx. 8.2 Knts cruising speed at 1150 RPM, burning just over 2 gallons per hour, giving a range of something over 1100 nautical miles.

 

TANKS:

     350 Gallons fuel - 175 gal. Aluminum tank each side in engine room.   Racor duel fuel filter system.  340 gallons water in two Stainless tanks in forward part of engine room.  Isotemp 6 gal water heater - operates from engine or shore power.  A 50 gallon fiberglass lined holding tank is way forward. 

 

ELECTRICAL:

     12 volt House & Starting systems:   A total of twelve Group 31 - 12 volt batteries for the house system with a large size Electrodyne 350 amp alternator.  Balmar three stage external regulator.  One 4 D - 12 volt Starting battery which is charged through an Isolation Diode from the House system.   Viictron 12 / 2000 watt / 80 amp charging Inverter/Charger.  Victron BMY 600 Battery Monitor.  Shore Power system. 

 

ELECTRONICS:     

     Furuno NAV NET vx2 Model 1934C 10” Radar/Plotter/Sounder.   Simrad AP 35 Auto Pilot - may be interfaced with the plotter.  VHF, and an Icom Single Side Band Radio.     

 

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Comfortable sleeping accommodations in the Fo’c’s’le for two: A single berth is each side with lockers & shelves outboard; drawers & lockers beneath.  A chest of drawers is between the berths aft of the oak companionway ladder; a high chest of drawers is forward to starboard, and a hanging locker is opposite to port with a Reflex MW diesel heater on the forward bulkhead.  A satin finished long leaf yellow pine paneled door opens to the Head which is forward.  The toilet is an electric Jabsco “Quiet Flush”, with the holding tank high in the forepeak and may be gravity drained, (also has deck pump-out line).  A small counter/cabinet with H & C pressure water is to port, and a bronze rod is over head - bent to a rectangular shape in plan view - to enable a large sized shower enclosure curtain to be drawn around.  The head & fwd cabin soles are satin finished long leaf yellow pine.  There are three round bronze opening ports each side, and two round prisms let in the deck - for good ventilation and light.  The interior is nicely finished in off-white paint and satin varnished cherry trim and bureau tops.
 
Deck House:   Sliding yellow pine paneled doors each side of the helm station - satin finished on the interior.  In the aft portion of the deck house is a dinette to stb’d with a nicely finished cherry dining table which may be lowered to form a single berth.   A back rest outboard swings up to form an upper pipe berth.  A cypress cabinet is aft on center with a Reflex 66M diesel heating stove.  The galley is along the whole port side with a Corian dark colored counter;  a top loading 12 v Isotherm refrigerator;  sink w/ hot & cold pressure water;  and a Wolf two burner propane cooking stove.  Cypress cabinets w/paneled doors are forward & aft above, with shelves between which are beneath & above the opening ports. The inboard face beneath the counter is fitted with shelves & lockers w/ cypress paneled doors below the sink;  and drawers, including a small flatware drawer, forward  beneath the stove.  The helm station has excellent visibility; there is a nice cherry compass shelf with space to lay out a folded chart to port of the helm; a stowage shelf is also beneath.  The compass is a Ritchie with Brass binnacle and dome cover w/ sliding closures.  Kobelt engine controls.  A mate’s seat w/back rest is to port, and an adjustable seat/rest is to stb’b which mounts on a bronze pipe post going from the sole to the overhead.  The port forward window drops down.  The interior of the deck house is nicely finished in off-white paint (the deck house sides show vertical staved vee grooves), and the cypress cabinet work, trim, and window stiles, etc. are clear satin finished.  Vertical grain Douglas Fir sole.   A visor is fitted outboard forward and around to aft of the sliding doors.  Numerous Bronze grab rails are on the deck house sides and aft end.

 

ENGINE ROOM:

     The Gardner engine is beneath the midships trunk with a sliding hatch/companionway on the stb’d side w/ varnished oak ladder.  This provides for full standing  headroom.   The engine is very accessible, as is all equipment which is well laid out.  Lockers are to port, and forward to port is an Isotherm BI-41 12 V top loading freezer.  A  chest of drawers with work bench top and vice is fw’d of the ladder to stb’d.  Ventilation is provided via two bronze cowl ventilators with Dorade boxes, combined with a stowage locker arrangement on the engine room trunk roof just ahead of the pilot house.

 

EQUIPMENT:

     44 lb. Delta anchor - housed within a self deploying bow sprit roller chock, and the anchor may be easily lowered and raised from the pilot house (or when on the fore deck as well).  200’ of 3/8” galvanized chain.  12 v Lewmar “V-3” electric capstan with warping head above the chain gypsy.  A second 30 lb. Delta anchor with 300’ braided nylon rode.  Two 12 v bilge pumps.  Jabsco 52700 high volume 12 v wash-down pump.  Two 20 lb. propane bottles (stow each side of locker at aft end of deck house).  Numerous nylon dock lines and fenders.  Life preservers.  Fire extinguishers.  Compressed air horn on pilot ho. roof. High quality Bronze search light.  EPIRB.  Chelsea clock & barometer.  Boat hook. Ritchie compass in bronze binnacle.  Deck light at aft end of house, and, small LED deck lights under visor - one on ctr. fw’d and one each side over the sliding doors.  Boarding step.  “ Westport Skiff” designed & built by D. N. Hylan & Assoc., and a 2.5 H.P. Yamaha Outboard.   An Aluminum working mast with hoisting boom is mounted on the port side of engine room  trunk with a Lewmar Bronze #40 self-tailing winch that is electrically powered and has a remote control cord - for hoisting the skiff, etc. aboard.  Electric wiper for center pilot ho.window.  Life lines with custom made bronze stanchions and bronze rails forward & aft. 

NOTE:  The Wheel has been in the family for many years and on most of their boats, and is not included with the sale of DELIVERANCE, but will be replaced by a similar type spoke wheel.
