Legacy Yachts 42 - Proudly built in the USA

A stunning quality motor yacht built by the able craftsmen of Legacy Yachts. (previously the Freedom Yacht Company of Rhode Island). Legacy entered the powerboat market in 1995 introducing seaworthy designs conceived by Mark Ellis. Legacy Yachts quickly began turning heads at prominent yacht clubs across the country. The product line consisted of traditional-style powerboats ranging from 28 to the flagship 42. BLUE SORA is a lovely example of the finish, and expert workmanship from this well regarded US boatbuilder.  Equipped with updated electronics, they include; a touchscreen Garmin 5212 chartplotter, a Furuno Radar, a redundant Furuno NavNet2 chartplotter, ICOM M602 VHF radio, a SIMRAD Autopilot, a KVH TracVision SAT TV, a Sirius Satellite Radio, XM Weather Radio, and a FLIR camera (for night vision).

Powered by a reliable 660HP Cummins QSM11-M turbo-diesel , the yacht cruises at 18-19 knots with a top end speed of 24 knots. Her seaworthy hull design features a clean sharp entry foward and 18 degrees of transom dead-rise. The underbody has a full skeg protecting the prop and rudder from floatsam. She is easily maneuvered in tight quarters having both bow and stern thrursters. The engine room is spacious and well organized and has accessibility from all sides and overhead. BLUE SORA is an exceptional offering and is priced to sell. Please contact us with questions or to arrange for a convenient inspection.

The main salon offers a comfortable layout with a satin cherry wood finish and a teak and holly cabin sole. The salon is open, bright and features large windows providing excellent views of the outside environment. On the starboard side there is an L-shaped settee upholstered in nautical blue ultrasuede fabric. There is storage beneath the settee and there is a handsome cherry & maple dining table large enough for playing card games and chart planning. The table has a collapsible stainless frame and easily stores out of the way. Forward of the settee to starboard is the Helm with a single Stidd captain's seat upholstered in faux leather. Outboard of the command station, is a helmsman door for egress to the side deck, quick ventilation, or a convenient spot to hail a friend. To port there is an entertainment center with flat panel TV, an adjacent barrel chair, and a tall mate seat which offers a good vantage point while underway. There are cellular blinds at the windows for privacy. The salon is fully climate controlled.

The galley-up layout is equipped with a polished stainless steel double sink, a single lever hot/cold faucet, a two-burner electric induction cooktop, a convection microwave oven, and a refrigerator with small ice-tray freezer, and a separate dedicated freezer.

Forward of the galley is an enclosed head with a separate shower stall. The head is equipped with a Sealand electric toilet, a stainless steel sink, and a sealed locker for towels. The head sole is of molded fiberglass with grid. There is a recessed shower grate and a remote sump.

To starboard is a comfortable guest cabin with desk area forward and a convertible wide berth with ample storage in the hanging locker and drawers below. This guest/office cabin features a double pocket door which provides a more roomy, spacious opening between the head and cabin areas.

The master stateroom features a centerline double berth with drawers beneath. A classic cherry finish accents a cedar-lined hanging locker. For storage there are aircraft-style lockers above and on each side of the master stateroom. The staterooms are also climate controlled with an independent climate zone from the main salon.

With plenty of storage, especially in the pantry, and with the "openess" of the guest stateroom arrangement, the Legacy 42 is a cruising couple's dreamboat with sleeping quarters for occassional guests. The wide side decks, low profile, economical cruise speeds, and abundance of space makes her a perfect Great Looper or Bahamas cruiser. A must see, Blue Sora is a fine vessel with excellent versatility!
