 Forever Young has earned it moniker . This 1989 Catalina 42 shows like new and has the features that makes living aboard the experience that it should be. It's a true turnkey live aboard. The hull, with it swim platform entrance in the transom is in excellent shape. It spent a week a year for the last 15 years on the hard having the hull cleaned painted and thru hulls, shaft and prop serviced and inspected.

The hull painted and polished in September 2014, The  bright work is immaculate, the standing rigging upgraded and well maintained. The custom arch provides a foundation for the wind generator, davits , solar panel and bimini  - that supports a full canvas cockpit enclosure with isenglas panels. ( new in 2012)

Power is generated by 3 solar panels producing 17 Amps each, and a 2011 KISS wind generator. The energy is stored in 6- 6V deep cycle house batteries and 1-12V deep cycle battery used for staring  the engine. Shore power is converted by a Xantrex Freedom 2000 inverter.

The engine is a 1989 Yanmar 4 cycle 40 HP that has been professional serviced and maintained. The boat is propelled by a 3 blade prop.

The electronics have been update with the latest addition of a  new Garmin chart plotter with blue water chip (2014),Navigation JRC Radar 1000, Raymarine 6000 Autopilot, Furuno Navtex weather receiver, Richie compass, VHS radio and a communication single side band Wextra copper in hull.  The sail plan is a main sail - new in 2011 installed with a stack pack and lazy jack and a furling head sail. A spare mainsail is included. The running rigging has all been updated and proceeds to  one of the 4 -Self tailing double speed winches that are located in the cockpit.

Forever Young has accommodations that  provides  three separate state rooms. The forward cabin stateroom has a "Pullman" style berth with  an ensuite head, that has an electric Jabsco head, shower and vanity; an additional head is located in the aft of the cabin.  

The salon with its 6' 8" head room, is large and airy with teak bulkheads and cabinetry. The salon table has2 position that  allows entertaining on a large table. The  starboard side galley  has a refrigerated ice box, stainless steel three burner stovetop oven - installed in 2009, a microwave and stainless steel deep bowl double sink. makes meal preparation easy. All the lighting below has been converted to power saving LED lights.

Fresh water is supplied by a PUR 80E reverse osmosis system capable of filling 4 freshwater tanks  for a total of  125 gallons.  Ground tackle includes Guardian, CQR and Danforth - with an additional 3 spare anchors. The windlass is an electric Maxwell.
