The Boston Whaler 120 Impact has all of the advantages of an inflatable tender without the disadvantages. It is stable, non-marring and soft-sided, and will not deflate. The technology behind this is the unique Impact Collar System (ICS) that starts with an outer sleeve of durable polyurethane. This material is five times more abrasion-resistant and two times more puncture-resistant than Hypalon. The sleeve is then filled with closed-cell foam which provides cushion upon impact and additional flotation. Another advantage afforded by the ICS is the additional interior space. Because the Impact collar is D-shaped and not completely round, this tender sports twice the usable deck and seating area than a similarly sized inflatable. Its center console configuration and built-in fuel tank afford maximum room for passengers and gear. The engine is recessed to protect the yacht when the impact is tied off or davited. The hull is stepped to optimize performance when on plane, achieving more speed and better fuel economy, and providing superior stability at idle.
