C&C 61 Comfortable Cruising Boat - Consistently Updated!
"Koh I Noor" is a custom built 61' Cruiser/Racer built in 1974 by C&C Yachts in Ontario. She was originally commissioned as "HELISARA" for the conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Herbert Von Karajan. She is now owned by only her 3rd owner who has proudly sailed her throughout North America and the Caribbean since 1983. She has been well maintained and consistently improved, keeping her updated with modern features and a stunning interior. Notable equipment and information: The design was originally commissioned by Tom Fisher of Detroit whose objective was a fast cruiser, capable of beating the 12 meters of the day on a boat-for-boat basis. Specifically, he had ideas of being consistently first to finish in New York Yacht Club cruises, which of course meant getting there ahead of the 12's. However, since his home waters were to be Lake St. Clair, he imposed the stringent draft restriction of eight feet. She is now a capable luxurious performance cruising boat that is both well appointed and outfitted. She has undergone significant structural and interior finishing improvements over the past 10-15 years.
