Gillikin 60 Pilot House Motor Yacht - Recent Survey $600,000!
The motor vessel "Last Chance" is a one of a kind luxury yacht that has undergone extensive renovations sparing no expense or convenience. In 1956, James and Vance Gillikin, of Gillikin Brothers Boat Works in Harkers Island, NC, produced their first "Party Fishing Boat." 78 Gillikin Party Fishing Boats were then built over the next 30 years. One of these boats was "Last Chance." Although survey performed in October of 2014 valued this Gillikin 60 at $600,000, her asking price has been reduced to $389,900 for a quick sale! The galley is located at main level at stern with two side windows providing excellent visibility. There is a folding centerline work table with stools for preparing food and eating. Galley amenities include: Double stainless steel sink w/garbage disposal. Hardwood flooring and oak cabinetry accent the galley.
This Gillikin Brothers were known for their distinctive Carolina Bow Flare, signature fine varnish and bright work. Exceptional construction became their trade mark. Their reputation continued to grow over the years. Research reports they are still in business building small fishing boats.
This particular party fishing boat found its way to lower Delaware where the present owner purchased her with a vivid dream of converting her from the original Head Boat to a modern day Luxury Yacht. Approximately 9 years and over $650,000 later, Last Chance is ready for full service with too many upgrades and improvements to list. The context of this letter cannot truly illustrate the beauty and never ending on board amenities that went into creating this awesome motor vessel.
The first thing the new owner did was to tear the boat down to the bare hull with plans to replace absolutely every system with the exception of the original Detroit 6/71 Detroit diesel engines. The engines were overhauled and at present time have about 900 hours of service time. Her hull is constructed of hardwood planking and sawn frames. The exterior hull has been totally encased in fiberglass.
She offers 4 staterooms, master, two guest, and one crew quarters along with two private heads aligned with two tiled shower stalls. She is a three level boat with the helm / pilothouse which includes a comfortable lounge / entertainment center on the upper level, forward. Mid level offers the staterooms, heads and forward gourmet galley. The lower level is where you will find the main engine room along with the forward and aft mechanical rooms.
The gourmet galley is complete with LPG stove and convection oven, built in counter top slow cooker, Keurig coffee brewing station, full size stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, deep freezer, electric beverage coolers, garbage disposal in the double sinks with professional style gourmet faucet and stainless microwave. Oak flooring and cabinetry make for decadent environment.
At her last haul out in October of 2014 a dinghy hoist davit system was added to the transom with a motorized lifting boom and a custom aluminum pipe weld structure for lifting, lowering, and securing a 13' Boston Whaler with 30hp outboard motor.
