Freedom Yachts 39 Pilothouse Schooner - New arrival

The Freedom 39 is an exceptional cruising vessel that is both easy to sail and comfortable to live on. The schooner rig is well balanced and the freestanding masts allow for easy sail handling for short-handed or solo crews. The aft cockpit is comfortable for six to eight passengers and in foul weather the pilothouse offers protection from the elements while providing full 360 degree visibility from the dinette. The Ron Holland hull design delivers strong performance with a cruising underbody that features a long modified fin keel and skeg hung rudder.  The 5'6" draft is suitable for Bahamas and Florida cruising, and the mast height is ICW friendly.  This is a boat that can take you places in comfort and safety. Perhaps an old review from Yachting World magazine says it best: "...The rig is elegantly simple, easy to handle and so well suited to cruising. This 39 is structurally sound in overall good condition but has a few needs for the handy buyer and is priced accordingly. Major projects include a galley rebuild, wiring updates, new running rigging and some cosmetic improvements. The hull and deck are believed to be dry and solid. There are no blisters or hull damage. The Freedom 39 has a remarkably roomy interior. There is a large V-berth forward with storage lockers aft.  There is a large head aft to starboard and the galley area across to starboard.  The galley needs a complete rebuild. The original galley was removed by the previous owner and replaced with a bar. Continuing aft is the pilothouse area with a large dinette to port and a single sette/berth to starboard, and nav area. Continuing aft is the large master stateroom to starboard and a second head to port.
