CANDELA is an extended transom version of the successful Swan 59 model.
Her counter transom offers greater LOA on deck, as well as additional storage space in the lazzarette aft of the helm. She also has an extra deck locker where most 59’s have a “well cockpit” by the companionway.
Her shallow draft Scheel keel (draft of 7.2 ft / 2.2m) coupled with her hydraulic push button sailing makes her an exceptional short handed cruiser.
She had refit in 2001 and has had continued maintenance since.

CANDELA was purchased by her present owner in 2004 from the USA.
They sailed the yacht in the USA and Caribbean.
The yacht has since been imported to Spain and used for family cruising in the west Med area.

GRP construction to Nautor’s Swan specification of the time.
Hand laid GRP hull and deck.
Aluminium toerail, through bolted.
Extended stern (18,44 LOA instead of standard 17,92m) with lazarette locker (which also houses the gen set).
She also has a modified centre deck area with no central (second) cockpit.
Shallow draft Scheel keel, (2,2m draft instead of standard 3m).

Replaced / new teak laid deck, made 2012 in Tarragona – glued down.

The aft deck has Simpson stainless steel davits; a stainless steel pole for aerials portside; an opening gate in pushpit; outboard bracket on pushpit.
Lewmar Commander system to power the primary and secondary self-tailing winches, as well as the Reckmann roller furling headstay and the anchor windlass - (a separate hydraulic power pack powers the Reckmann furling mainsail system).
Cockpit with pedestal and helm unit.
Gas locker under the helmsman seat.
Sun bimini and frame.
Lockers port and starboard.
Raymarine ST 7002 autopilot unit portside of helm.
