Although primarily a cruising yacht, this Islander 32 is no slouch when it comes to performance, having won her class in the 1991 Trans-Superior and captained by a world renowned racer and previous owner. Hull speed is rated at close to seven knots, but she has been known to well exceed her hull speed with careful sail trim, good wind and skillful sailing.

The original owner won several large races on Lake Superior with the boat. Current owner has had her at over 7 knots regularly.
