Chesapeake Deadrise - New to the market!
2000 44' Chesapeake Bay Deadrise Built by the Walden Brothers yard in Deltaville, Va., The Faye is a superb example of the traditional "Deadrise" that is so highly revered on the Chesapeake. They were first developed in the 1880s and soon became the favorite of the "watermen" because of their ability to accommodate heavy and bulky gear. Their signature sharp forefoot functions to adeptly slice through the bay's choppy waters. She is complemented by the tall angular deckhouse forward and runs roughly one-third of the way back from her stem. The long open cockpit and engine box fill in aft. Running aft below the waterline she becomes flat making her easily driven, economical and a styling that won't ever go away. She's powered by a single Cummins diesel and had a bow thruster installed in 2014. She is in excellent condition and has been well cared for by her owner. Below and forward and to starboard are two single, upper and lower berths. To port is the spacious head. Up several steps into the wheelhouse/saloon there is 360 degree visibility. Lying fore and aft is a raised futon sofa that provides good visibility out with lots of stowage under. To starboard is the helm, engine controls, electrical panel (recently installed), Norcold refrigerator and Kenmore microwave and pizza oven. The cabin can be made airy with the port/starboard and aft sliding windows. Through the aft door the world opens up to almost 30 feet of cockpit running space. On the after side of the cabin to port is an L-shaped outdoor galley counter with sink. Across and to starboard is a second helm station with wheel and controls for tighter reverse maneuvering. The engine box is centered and has a fore and aft split cover that provides easy access to the Cummins engine. There are 2 water-tight aluminum hatches providing a generous amount of stowage space for a genset, etc. Forward of the transom is a bench seat lying athwartship.
