1977 Pacemaker 40 As written by powerboatguide.com: With her classic sportfish styling and muscular profile, the Pacemaker 40 Sport Fisherman combined the power and performance required of any serious 1970s fishing boat. She was built on a low-deadrise, solid fiberglass hull with a shallow keel and moderate beam--the same proven hull also used for Pacemaker's 40-foot motor yacht. Several interior plans were available over the years with the most popular consisting of two staterooms with the galley down. Teak cabinets and trim are applied liberally throughout the interior, and large cabin windows admit plenty of outside natural lighting. On deck, the cockpit can easily accommodate a mounted chair and includes a molded tackle center, insulated fish box, teak covering boards, and rod holders. The Pacemaker's large flybridge offers an excellent view of the cockpit and provides bench seating forward of the helm console. On the downside, the engineroom is small (especially when diesels are installed), and the fuel capacity is very limited. Optional 325hp GM 6-71s diesels cruise the Pacemaker 40 Sport Fisherman around 22 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 24-25 knots.
