Cougar R12 Viper - A very unique boat

A truly unique opportunity to acquire one of the most advanced offshore marathon race / ultimate high speed cruise ribs ever built. Designed and built in collaboration with legend Steve Curtis and the team at Cougar Marine, she has a dual purpose in mind – to decimate the competition at offshore marathon endurance racing and yet be capable of giving the ultimate thrill ride for the owner and his friends/family in leisure setup. Twin step 24 degree deadrise Deep V monohull with tapered Hypalon tubes. Wraparound acrylic F16 style windscreen with removable roof/canopy system – complies with latest marathon race regulations. Twin staggered Ilmor V10 – 725HP Petrol inboards coupled to Ilmor Indy drives incorporating hydraulic steering and trim rams. CMI stainless steel tubular water jacketed exhaust system with thru transom exhaust tips. Rolla surface piercing propellers. Top speed in excess of 100mph with sustained cruise around 75mph when conditions allow. The cockpit houses 4 bucket style suspension seats, onboard air supply, external bench seating for 3 additional passengers, electric hatch rams, port and starboard helm positions (removable wheel) to allow for separate throttleman operation / owner-driver use, triple Raymarine plotters, radar, DSC VHF, screen washers, forward and rear facing camera system, full Livorsi engine instrumentation, underwater lighting, heavy duty K-plane trim tabs with indicators, Perma-teak decking, custom lifting points and much more. First launched in mid-2011 for testing, she was then returned to the Cougar factory where she has undergone further tweaking and upgrading before finally handing over to her sole owner as a finished boat in mid-2013 (2013 HIN). Currently lying indoors, local to us here in Swanwick and available to view 7 days a week by prior arrangement. Cockpit houses 4 suspension bucket style seats with additional triple bolster bench seat. Large flat aft area on top of engine hatch. (would be possible to make bespoke sunpad cushions if required – not included in sale) Integrated bathing platform with removable boarding ladder. Forward cuddy/cabin with ladder access through deck hatch. Currently used for storage but would be possible to retrofit a toilet and convert to twin berths if desired.
