Freedom Yachts 36 - Rare, One Owner Boat!

The famous Freedom 36, designed by Gary Mull and built by Tillotson-Pearson is arguably one of the best American built boats on the market. The Freedom 36 features a sleek and stable hull design that is easily driven by a powerful full battened mainsail on the freestanding, unstayed carbon fiber mast.The Freedom 36 boasts unbelievable control while sailing in most conditions. The Freedom 36 is included on the list of 19 boats in the book "The Worlds Best Sailboats" by Ferenc Mat'e, published in 1988.

"L'Aventure" is a rare, one owner boat purchased new in 1987 and has sailed the Eastern coast from Maine to Florida to the Bahamas and has spent the last 12 years lightly sailed in the Chesapeake Bay. She has been well maintained and incorporates many upgrades and options that make her comfortable and accommodating for a sailor of any kind.

This is a shoal draft model designed to provide excellent performance and balance while allowing extensive and worry free cruising in shallower waters such as the Chesapeake Bay, ICW, the Keys or the Bahamas. All sail controls lead to the cockpit and the Freedom rig is uniquely well suited for short-handed sailing. She has the accommodations of a 40-footer and provides two private staterooms and a large salon with a convenient galley. When anchored, the included dingy on davits makes exploring and going ashore a simple task. 6'5" of headroom makes this 36' boat feel very spacious! center table accommodates an intimate dinner or expands to seat six comfortably. Settees are a full 6'6" long and seatbacks are hinged for access to stowage behind and below. Three Bowmar deck hatches and nine ports ventilate and light the interior very well, and include bug/privacy screens. There are two AC outlets and a DC outlet in the compartments above each settee. Under the port, L-shaped settee is open storage, and on the starboard side is a 64 gallon water tank. The cabin sole is teak and holly.
