Saga Double-Ender 27

"JOHN DEWEY" is a Swedish built double-ender Trawler discovered in Tennessee in need of a total refit 2011. The History of Saga was born in 1960. The Drageseth brothers running a shirt factory for 14 years often dreamed of starting a boat building business. They started with a simple model, a 10ft Jolly-Boat. Production was great, soon 3 new models were on the production line. The Saga 27' double-ender Trawler would finally put them on the map. In the 1970's and with more than 130 employee's, Saga found their way to success with this quality built, seaworthiness proven boat. Seen primarily on the channels of the Netherlands. In 2005 the Saga 27 was named "The Greatest Norwegian Motorboat of All Time". Saga is still in business today in no short part for their local traditions, good craftsmanship & excellent reputation as quality boat builders.

This complete bow to stern restoration started with a "Hull Only". This project took 3 years, commissioned & launched August, 2014.

Center cockpit double cabin layout with 2 double berths, 1 head. Entry into the forward cabin through private door has full walk in head to starboard side also with with private door. Marine Jabsco twist lock head with 9 gal waste holding tank. Forward Vee/salon w/storage below, dinette table, hanging clothes locker, 2 topside opening hatches, LED lighting, 110 Volt AC & 12 Volt DC outlets. The cockpit area has 2 helm chairs, full galley behind port helm chair with sink, stove, refrigerator. Aft cockpit has 2 forward facing seats and convertible dinette table behind main helm seat. Aft cabin with private door, double berth, LED lighting, 110 volt AC & 12 Volt DC power, Opening port window aft. The interior in both cabins have custom installed high gloss birch paneling with teak trim. The cabin soles & cockpit have a custom fitted (removable) teak & holly product by Aqua flooring called "Better than Teak". All cabin windows removed and new gaskets replaced.

A well designed layout with excellent usage of space making her a perfect little ICW or inland rivers cruiser. Well suited for doing the "Loop".
