View 360 Virtual tour of this boat. ( http://swiftsureyachts.com/360-brave-spirit/ ) BRAVE SPIRIT is a custom fiberglass Northwest expedition yacht built on a proven purse seiner hull by Howard Moe and the craftsman at Little Hoquiam Shipyard in Washington State. Little Hoquiam Shipyard started in the 60’s building fishing vessels to stand up to the rigors of Alaskan and Pacific Northwest fishing. They continue today with a much regarded portfolio of research, charter, yachtfish, commercial fishing, and yachts up to 120’ in length. Knowledgeable west coast mariners appreciate the strength and durability of these boats. As proof of these qualities, BRAVE SPIRIT, has weathered gracefully since she was built in 1994. She shows very well and has served her owners well as an outstanding, purpose built vessel to explore the waters between Seattle and Southeast Alaska. Experienced Pacific Northwest boaters will appreciate the configuration and outfitting of this unique motoryacht. Highlights include: BRAVE SPIRIT is moored at our Lake Union docks for easy viewing. Any buyer considering a comparably sized Fleming, Offshore, Ocean Alexander, Grand Banks, Outer Reef, Tollycraft, or Marlowe would be wise to view this boat. Built in Washington State and outfitted for cruising the rugged and dramatic Salish Sea and southeast Alaska, BRAVE SPIRIT is a unique and capable Northwest expedition yacht. In designing the interior accommodation on this Little Hoquiam 60, bias was given to a large, open salon. This space measures 13’ wide by 14’ long. Due to the fact that the bridge is on the upper deck, views from the salon are also 360 degrees. The interior is entered via double sliding doors aft, or through sliding side doors forward on each side. Varnished teak is used for interior joinery including a teak and holy cabin sole. All windows except forward windows are fitted with wood blinds and upholstered valences. The middle windows on each side have sliders and screens for ventilation. The overhead is of beige vinyl and numerous, dimmable recessed lights provide controlled illumination at night. The salon is bright, elegant, wide and roomy for entertaining. A 6’ x 9’ oriental rug is centered on the salon sole. An “L”-shaped settee is aft to port, measures 8’ long by 5’ wide and is upholstered with high quality dark green leather cushions. Storage bins are beneath the settee. A moveable hi/Lo table with two opening leaves measures 2’ by 4” when in cocktail mode and expands to 4’ x 4’ in dining mode. Using folding teak chairs and the settee, six can comfortably dine at this table. These chairs can also be used in the cockpit. Fourteen dimmable lights flush mounted in a teak board on the overhead above this table nicely control the atmosphere. Aft and to starboard are two bookshelves. Two leather covered barrel swivel chairs are to starboard and flank an “entertainment” cabinet. Forward and to starboard is a cabinet with the 110V switch panel, genset controls, inverter/charger controls, and battery monitoring. The galley is forward and open to the salon. It spans the full width of the cabin between the forward sliding doors. Large windows surround the galley letting the cook enjoy views forward, aft and on both sides. Corian counters with teak trim are used throughout the galley. Starting aft and to port, cabinets run along the cabin side below the windows. Furthest aft are spirits lockers including dedicated bottle and wine glass storage. A 42” high 18” by 6’ countertop separates the salon from the galley proper. Two 32” high stools built with lathe turned teak pedestals and dark green leather seats are fixed to the sole aft of the raised countertop. A pantry cabinet with four shelves is to starboard under the raised counter. To starboard an under counter 4.5 cubic foot Subzero fridge sits next to a locker with a single drawer and shelves. Above the counter a wide cabinet with sliders serves as a pantry. To port and aft is a cabinet with two pull out drawers beneath a silverware drawer. A bank of four drawers is further to port. A white Corian double sink is mounted beneath the counter and measures 21” x 19” x 8” and 9” x 16” x 6”. A Hansa single lever faucet with pull out spray nozzle serves these sinks. An instant hot water dispenser is also fitted. An ice cube maker and storage locker are below the sink. A trash compactor is outboard below the counter. The stove is surface mounted in the counter along the forward galley to port. A ventilator fan mounted forward of the stove extracts cooking vapors. The oven is built into a cabinet to starboard of the stove, above the counter. Below the counter, a cabinet with one drawer and two pull out shelves is flanked by a Subzero fridge and freezer. Nine overhead, recessed dimmable lights illuminate the galley at night. The staterooms and heads are located forward. From the galley, slightly offset to starboard of centerline is a stairway with four steps and handrail leading to the forward passageway. This stairway hinges up with a powerlift to access the forward watertight engine room door. At the top of the ladder is a B&G HS2 navigation instrument display, intercom, fire annunciator, and passageway light dimmer switch. A GE Spacemaker washer and stacked dryer are located in an alcove at the forward starboard end of this passageway. Aft and to port is a guest stateroom with queen sized berth. Two drawers are beneath the berth. A bookshelf runs along the hull side and a second bookshelf is above the bunk aft. A teak trimmed upholstered headboard with two reading lights is mounted on the forward bulkhead. Stereo fader knob, heating system thermostat and fan switch, two reading lights, five overhead lights, one overhead hatch, two opening side ports, and two stereo speakers are all located in this cabin. Aft and inboard is a cedar lined hanging locker with automatic light. Access to the forward bilge/storage areas is through a hatch in the cabin sole. Across the passageway to starboard is the second guest stateroom. A 36” wide by 6’ 10” single berth is outboard. A similar sized upper bunk hinges down when sleeping two guests in this cabin. Two drawers are below the lower bunk. Reading lights are secured to the forward bulkhead and complement the three overhead lights. A cedar lined hanging locker with automatic lights is aft and inboard. Two opening side ports, one overhead hatch, heating system thermostat and fan switch, and stereo fader control complete this stateroom. Access to the forward bilge/storage area in proximity of the 12V house bank and inverter/charger is through a hatch in the cabin sole. Further forward and to port in the passageway is the guest head. A teak vanity with off white Corian counter is just inside the door along the aft bulkhead. A white porcelain sink with single lever Hansa faucet is underhung in the counter. Mirrors are mounted above the counter. An elegant teak semicircular set of open shelves is just inside the door above the counter. Below the vanity is a drawer and locker with shelves. The fiberglass stall shower with glass door is aft and outboard. A Broan extractor fan with timer switch removes moisture and odors from this space. A Hansa mixer valve and adjustable shower nozzle bar along with a chrome finish gel/shampoo/conditioner dispenser and dome light are mounted in the shower. An overhead hatch, and side port can be opened for natural ventilation. Heat is provided with both a Webasto thermostat and fan and a 110V surface mounted cabin heater. Overhead lights and a task light over the sink illuminate this space at night. The vacuflush head is outboard and forward. A teak linen locker with three shelves is outboard of the head. The full beam master stateroom is at the forward end of the passageway and takes advantage of the bow’s flare to create a spacious cabin. A queen sized, walk around island berth is on centerline. Four drawers are beneath this berth. The forward bulkhead is mirrored to increase the visual sense of space. A padded, teak trimmed headboard is also mounted on the forward bulkhead. Swing arm reading lights are on each side of the berth. A wide shelf runs at berth height along the hull sides to port and starboard. Along the hull side to port is a lounging seat. A large cedar lined hanging locker with sliding mirrored doors is aft to port just outboard of the door. An additional sliding door storage cabinet is above the hanging locker. A recessed bookshelf, stereo cabinet, and smoked acrylic CD storage cabinet are further outboard along the aft bulkhead. A chest of six drawers is located below the hull side shelf along the starboard side. Twelve overhead dimmable lights, intercom, one opening hatch and two opening hull side ports are fitted. A Webasto heater, fan switch and thermostat along with a 110V electric heater will heat this cabin in cold climates. Entrance to the ensuite head is aft to starboard. The master stateroom head has a Vacuflush head aft and inboard. A fiberglass stall shower with glass door is aft and outboard. A Hansa mixer valve and adjustable shower nozzle bar along with a chrome finished gel/shampoo/conditioner dispenser and dome light are mounted in the shower. A teak vanity with off white Corian counter is forward along the hull side. A Hansa single lever faucet serves this sink and a mirrored medicine cabinet is above the sink. A Broan extractor fan removes vapors. A small teak linen locker is over the head.
