Nick Hake, designer and builder of the Seaward boats, likes shoal drafted sailboats. He always said his boats would blow the doors off a J/24 in 3 feet of water. His boats are all about gunk-holing where you can glide across the flats and anchor in shallow water where most sailboats can't go.
