2013 ICE 44 The Felci 44 Ocean Cruiser was created as a boat designed for cruising and blue water navigation in the true sense of the word. The airy, practical internal spaces form an integral part of a marine boat that combines speed with safety making this new Felci Yacht Design project unique. ICE 44The raised saloon combines the aesthetic advantages of a racy superstructure with a raised bottom board and free 360° all-round external vision. The canoe body was designed to satisfy the specific requirements relative to blue water sailing and is particularly user-friendly, giving comfort under sail and over long voyages in all wind and sea conditions. Thanks to a project born of long years of experience, combined with hi-tech construction materials and methods, the boat will always return excellent high performances. The composite fibreglass-kevlar and carbon hull is shock resistant, light but very strong. Composite and lightened materials have been used for the interior, combining elegance and modernity with incredible functionality, a mix of the best nautical traditions and those possibilities that modern, avant garde materials offer today. The research applied throughout the projects, from the hydro-dynamics to the study of thesystems, will give safe, comfortable sailing in all sea and weather conditions. This hull, in combination with a high performance keel, will enable this 44 to sail at a small heeling angle, all in favour of easy handling and comfort. The overall low displacement, the perfect balance at the rudder and the deck equipment studied specifically to make things straightforward in all possible situations makes the 44 OC perfectly suited to those who have always thought of important sea voyages as being beyond their abilities. On the other hand this project will prove to experienced sailors that all those critical points that have always been a part of a sailor?s life have been brilliantly resolved in the 44 OC, giving them the opportunity of appreciating performances that up to now had been considered unimaginable on sailboats truly dedicated to cruising.
