Designed by the renowned Ed Monk, Jr., the Ocean Alexander 50 Classico is a seaworthy pilothouse trawler equally suitable for coastal and offshore cruising or with her hinged mast lowered, Great Looping. HUNKY DORY offers extremely economical cruising with her dependable John Deere tractor based diesel. The single engine allows for easy maintenance in her spacious engine room. Reliable get-home ability is available from her Key Power hydraulics driven by the Northern Lights genset. Rather than the typical arrangement with a get home engine driving a small sailboat folding prop, the Key Power system drives the 34" X 20" main prop which can drive actually power her in a seaway. With her Monk hull and hydraulic stabilizers she is a stable offshore boat. Bow and stern thrusters allow for easy handling in a crowded marina.

She features two comfortable ensuite staterooms with the master stateroom amidships for comfort underway at sea. The wheelhouse offers a dinette and a watch berth. The saloon and galley allow for comfortable living aboard.
