VIKING IV is a three stateroom, three head sailing yacht with additional crew quarters, and great accommodation. She has a raised saloon, centre cockpit and inside steering station.

She is equipped to be self-sustained for long periods of time.

Twin diesel engine power plant provides good cruising speed and manoeuvrability and her sail plan provides good sailing characteristics.

Shoal draft Scheel keel allows for additional exploration and access to the smaller harbours and anchorages.

The boat was purchased by the current owner in 2010 from the USA and April 2010 crossed the Atlantic from Charleston to Gibraltar and later on to Spain and Italy.

VIKING IV was Oyster Marines first build over 60 feet and was their showpiece in 1989. This vessel was specially conceived to cruise remote locations like Antarctica. The former engineer who commissioned her also specified top of the line gear and redundancy, (including Reckmann hydraulic furling, a retractable hydraulic bow thruster, below waterline foam insulation, two generators and twin Mercedes diesels). She rounded Cape Horn on her maiden voyage to her first home port in Chile and has been continuously maintained and upgraded.

Freshwater sailed and dry-stored indoors for a number of past winter seasons (pre 2009).

VIKING IV has under her previous owner sailed 3000 miles from Chicago, through the St. Lawrence Seaway, down to Florida, and back to Charleston.

The boat was purchased by the current owner in 2010 from the USA and April 2010 crossed the Atlantic from Charleston to Gibraltar and later on to Almerimar and Italy.

In the years 2010 and 2011 she was refitted and upgraded. From 2010 she has had her home port in Italy near Rome. The vessel has never chartered and has always been maintained by a skipper. She is equipped well enough and ready to go anywhere.
